Why Many Massages Miss the Mark

Many massage treatments skip the most important step — understanding what is actually causing the pain. Without proper assessment or communication about pressure and problem areas, people often leave feeling like the real issue was never addressed. At Wellness With James, every session begins with a posture and range-of-motion assessment so the treatment can be tailored to what your body actually needs.

How It Works

1. Book. Choose your session length online. Wed–Sat, Tweed Heads South.

2. Assessment. Every session begins with a posture and range of motion assessment. James identifies what's driving your pain — not just where it hurts.

3. Treatment. Hands-on treatment using whichever techniques your body needs that day — remedial massage, dry needling, cupping, myofascial release, or a combination. You'll leave with aftercare advice or mobility exercises if needed.

FAQ's

Your Questions Answered: Enhancing Your Wellness Journey

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept cash and card payments. Health Fund Rebates are available for on-the-spot private health fund claims.

Can massage help with headaches or migraines?

Yes — in many cases, headaches and migraines are linked to tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back. Massage can help release this tension and reduce discomfort.

Do you offer mobile or home visits?

I'm not currently offering mobile massage.

Can I book a massage if I’m pregnant?

Yes. Massage can be very beneficial during pregnancy. I will adapt your treatment based on your trimester to ensure safety and comfort.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes — they make a thoughtful gift for any occasion.

How long are your appointments?

For Remedial Massage - I have 60 minute, 90 minute and 2 hour sessions available. For Massage + Sound Healing I have a 2 hour and 15 minute session available.

Do you offer relaxation massage as well as remedial?

Yes. I offer purely relaxation massage treatments. I tailor the massage to what you need on the day.

My treatments often blend remedial and relaxation techniques to help you reduce pain, tension, and stress in one session.

Can I have a massage if I’m sick or injured?

If you’re unwell and may spread illness (e.g. cold, flu, or other contagious conditions), it’s best to reschedule so we can keep everyone healthy. For injuries, it depends on the nature and stage of healing — I can work around some injuries, but others may need rest before treatment.

Try to give me as much notice as possible if you fall sick.

Can I choose the pressure of my massage?

Absolutely. I work with you throughout the session to find the pressure that feels right for you. I often work with a pain scale which helps us both understand your pain tolerance.

I ensure that we are within your pain threshold throughout the treatment so that the pressure is effective and comfortable.

Can I have a massage if I’m sore from the gym?

Yes. Massage is excellent for post-workout recovery, reducing muscle soreness, and improving flexibility. Try not to have a gym workout after your session, save that for the following days.

Do you treat sports injuries?

Yes. I can assist with injury recovery and ongoing management, often in collaboration with other health professionals. I offer rehabilitation exercises and treatment plans to get you back on track.

How often should I get a massage?

This depends on your needs. For chronic or long-term pain, I recommend a few treatments close together before moving to a maintenance plan — often monthly sessions. We’ll work together to find the right frequency for you.
